I took a night bus from ahmedabad to reach Jaisalmer. The bus reached Jaisalmer by around 7.30 in the morning.
I was wide awake when the bus was nearing Jaisalmer and all I could see was golden color houses.

However, as compared to other Taj properties in Rajasthan this one is quite affordable (US$100-150/day for a double).
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer. It's quite and clean. The staff is helpful and food is good.
It's a nice place to place to relax. The disadvantage is that you will need a vehicle to visit Jaisalmer city.
